About Rudy Nadler-Nir

Rudy Nadler-Nir      Rudy has been actively involved in the Interactive industry - and the Net community - since 1989, initially on FIDONET, and as one of the first Bulletin Board Systems and Internet users in South Africa. Then as General Manager for Service Provider giant Internet Africa. He is marketing manager at Korbitec – this, however, is his personal website. iafrica.com Rudy is a founding member of iafrica.com - Africa's largest Web Portal - and has been iafrica.com's Content Manager since its inception in 1996. OgilvyInteractive In October 1999, Rudy joined OgilvyInteractive – the online arm of advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather - as Strategic Director. Since leaving O&M, Rudy has been involved in similar projects as freelance strategist through his own eclectic.co.za initiatives. Strategist-at-large Rudy’s expertise lies in the creation of Communication Concepts and Strategies - both for online and off-line business initiatives.

Speaking      Rudy is a popular public speaker. Education He lectures on e-Business Management and e-Marketing, Internet, Interactivity, Communication and related issues at the University of Cape Town, Rhodes University, AAA School of Advertising, The SA Institute of Marketing Management (IMM), The Faculty Training Institute (FTI) -- and other educational institutions. He also wrote, edited & published his own weekly email newsletter "morning, eclectics!". Website eclectic.co.za and Blog ToingToing are known places of refuge for those who celebrate the passions and skills involved in seeking and sharing knowledge interactively. Articles Rudy writes articles for The Media Toolbox, Business2.0 and for Arthur Goldstuck's The Big Change newsletter. He is –also a member of The Big Change Initiative Consulting Board. Rudy enjoys writing tremendously and aims to make sure he keeps to healthy, positively creative habits and practices. Family Rudy is married to Elizabeth and is the doting dad of gorgeous Nathan and Ruth. Hobbies Music (especially Jazz from Brazil!), Reading (Harry Potter!!), Cricket (watching, not playing!) , Classic movies, Movies and the Theatre. Post-Graduate Studies      Rudy has a master's degree in education from the University of the Western Cape. He is currently a doctoral student at the same university, conducting anthropological (ethnographic) research of digital communities, with special emphasis on the way young adults use cellphones.
